2. Advantages
There are four advantages when using UVI “Vintage Vault 3”
- Great vintage synthesizers and rhythm machines available at once
- Songs that do not require acoustic musical instruments can be composed only with Vintage Vault 3
- Sample-based high quality sound
- Cheaper than buying a single product
(1)Great vintage synthesizers and rhythm machines available at once
There are a lot of fantastic vintage synthesizers and rhythm machines.
There are not only famous synthesizers, but also lesser-known synthesizers that are only softwareized by UVI.
If you don’t have a vintage synthesizer sound source, you can get it at once, so it’s highly recommended.
The synthesizers from which they are based are as follows.

(2)Songs that do not require acoustic musical instruments can be composed only with Vintage Vault 3
For genres such as techno and electro, all parts are available in Vintage Vault 3 only, so you can compose with Vintage Vault 3 only.
(3)Sample-based high quality sound
This is a personal opinion, but I often find the sound good.
I feel the quality is higher than software modeled on vintage synthesizers from other manufacturers.
(4)Cheaper than buying a single product
The price is not cheap, but it is possible to get each single product cheaply.
Actually, it costs $ 3,450 if you buy them all individually.
3. Disadvantages that you should know before using
However, there are two disadvantages to know before using UVI “Vintage Vault 3”
- It doesn’t include acoustic musical instruments
- Start with UVI Workstation or UVI Falcon
- As Voices increase, the CPU load increases
(1)It doesn’t include acoustic musical instruments
Vintage Vault 3 is software specializing in vintage synthesizers and rhythm machines, so there are no acoustic musical instruments.
If you want to get acoustic musical instruments, there are Arturia “V Collection 7” and Native Instruments “Komplete 12”.
- Arturia V Collection 7 List price $499
Keyboard instruments (piano, electric piano, organ, etc.), vintage synthesizers
- UVI Vintage Vault 3 List price $ 599
Vintage synthesizers, rhythm machines
- Native Instruments Komplete 12 List price $599
Almost all sound sources. However, most synthesizers are original and there are few vintage synthesizers.
(2)Start with UVI Workstation or UVI Falcon
Vintage Vault 3 does not run as individual plug-ins, but runs within UVI Workstation (free) or UVI Falcon.
(3)As voices increase, the CPU load increases.
At the bottom right of the UVI Workstation you can find the number of polyphony (Voices) and CPU load (CPU).
Basically, the CPU load tends to increase as the number of polyphony increases.
The CPU load in mono (monophonic) mode is low, but in poly (polyphonic) mode the CPU load is high if there are many voices.
But many real synthesizers have limited polyphony. Vintage Vault 3 has no polyphony limit.
