In this article, we introduce the download information and an overview of the SEK-922 8-Bit Keyboard.
What is Shoal Audio “SEK-922 8-Bit Keyboard”?
The SEK-922 8-Bit Keyboard is a free Decent Sampler instrument that was created by sampling a real hardware keyboard equipped with a late-1980s 8-bit sound chip, captured with a stereo pair of condenser microphones, and includes 7 voice patches. Because the original keyboard had no audio output jack, the raw bleeps coming out of its speaker were faithfully recorded with microphones. In addition, an amplitude envelope and a filter envelope – which the original did not have – were added, along with glide, pan, and velocity-tracking dials, resulting in a design that preserves the retro tone while enabling modern transient control.
