It is built around a single fixed signal chain consisting of a 2622-style input transformer, a 2520-style discrete op-amp, a 2503-style output transformer, and passive output attenuation. Rather than applying static saturation, it models the interaction between the key analog stages, adding weight, punch, harmonic color, and level-dependent nonlinear behavior. It is well suited to giving density and presence to sources that feel too clean or flat — drums, bass, vocals, room mics, synths, samplers, and virtual instruments. Set the gain low and you can spread it thinly across an entire mix; push it harder and the transformers and discrete amp progressively add color, compression, and harmonic movement.
