SACRED DSP’s stutter plugin Phase Fracture is available as a free download. This article covers the distribution details, an overview of the plugin, and how to install it.
1. What Is SACRED DSP “Phase Fracture”?
Phase Fracture is a stutter effect that captures tiny fragments of sound and lets you play them like an instrument as tuned sequence patterns. You can tune a loop to a note, draw an 8-step melody and snap it to a scale, and spread motion across the stereo field with two LFOs. It also handles tight tempo-synced stutters at the end of a bar, along with reverse and freeze.
Key Features
- Tonal stutter: Tune loops to pitch in Note mode
- Pitch trajectory: Draw 8 steps and snap the trajectory to a scale and root
- Dual LFOs: Each LFO can be routed to 16 destinations, including the other LFO
- Stereo fracture: Split the stereo read heads to add width
- Tempo-synced stutter, reverse and freeze
- Live visual feedback showing the motion of the sound, plus presets for sound design
