What Is OVNI Audio TELESCOPE?
TELESCOPE is an open-source (AGPLv3) analyzer plugin that runs a single analysis engine behind 13 different “lenses” (display modes), measuring loudness, dynamics, spectrum, stereo imaging, tonal balance and more. At the end of the chain, the VERDICT page turns those measurements into plain written statements, each backed by the numbers it is based on and a rule ID. Latency is zero samples, and the design is a strict pass-through that leaves your audio bit-for-bit untouched.
The source code is free forever, and the ready-to-use installer was originally free only until November 23, 2026 (a $15 paid pack after that). That deadline has since been dropped, so the installer is now free with no expiration date.

- LOUDNESS: ITU-R BS.1770-compliant integrated, short-term and momentary LUFS, LRA and true peak (per-channel readouts supported)
- DYNAMICS: PSR over the last 3 seconds, PLR since the last reset, a 61-bin short-term histogram, and clip events plotted on a 10-minute timeline
- SPECTRUM: 1,024 to 32,768-point FFT (Hann / Blackman-Harris / Kaiser windows) with free, 1/3-octave and Bark band displays
- SPECTROGRAM / WATERFALL: 20 Hz to 20 kHz across 512 logarithmic rows, 10 / 30 / 60-second history, and a 2.5D waterfall view
- CQT / SPIRAL: note display via a constant-Q transform with 24 bins per octave, chromagram, and key detection based on Krumhansl and Kessler profiles (with a confidence value)
- SCOPE / BAND CORRELATION: correlation, width, balance and mono loss shown as Lissajous and POLAR displays, plus per-band correlation in 1/3-octave bands
- STEREO SPECTROGRAM / FIELD: a sonogram that colour-codes phase, and energy distribution across pan position by frequency on a 64×96 grid
- TONAL BALANCE: loads a reference track and compares it with your mix at matched LUFS, showing the difference band by band
- VERDICT: 21 deterministic rules turn the measurements into written statements backed by the actual numbers and a rule ID (no AI models, no telemetry)
- Zero-sample latency and bit-for-bit pass-through, plus offline analysis by dropping a file onto the plugin
- Supported formats: VST3 / AU (macOS 11 or later, universal binary), VST3 (Windows 10 or later, 64-bit)
- Supported languages: English and Spanish (Portuguese, French, German and Italian are awaiting native review)
