What is Analog Obsession ToneShaper?
ToneShaper is a simple passive-style tone & body control plugin that lets you shape the brightness and the low-mid weight of a sound with just two knobs: TONE and BODY. It uses the distinctive frequency curve of a passive tone circuit, so instead of adding saturation or harmonics it reshapes the tone purely through smooth changes in frequency balance.
Main features
- TONE: a high-shelf style tone control that moves the character from dark to bright
- BODY: adjusts the low-mids through the midrange to add or remove body and thickness
- OUTPUT: sets the output level
- I/O: plugin bypass (ON/OFF)
- Smooth frequency curves derived from a passive tone circuit, so you can dial in brightness and thickness without making the source sound unnatural
- The roughly 20 dB of gain loss inherent to the passive design is already compensated with a clean boost
- No non-linear stages that would colour the signal
