What is a UAD plugin?
UAD plugins are Universal Audio’s family of plugins that run powerful analog emulations on dedicated DSP. Developed in collaboration with the audio industry’s biggest brands, the catalog includes over 100 plugins. Regular UAD plugins require a DSP accelerator or a UA DSP-equipped interface, but with the UAD Spark subscription and availability through retailers such as Plugin Boutique, they can now also be used as standard Native plugins without any hardware.
Each plugin has its own DSP usage. Hardware also comes with free bundles such as Analog Classics Plus, plus products that let you freely choose your plugins. Native UAD-plugin versions of third-party products from Sonnox, Softube, Eventide and others are also available.
Install & activation
Installing and activating Universal Audio products takes 4 steps:
- Create an account and log in at Universal Audio.
- Enter your email address and serial number at the redeem page.
- Follow the prompts to download and install UA Connect.
- Launch UA Connect, then choose ACTIVATE LICENSE → DOWNLOAD for your product.
