2. Overview of Popular u-he Soft Synths and Effects

Here is an overview of the u-he instruments and effects included in the sale, plus other popular titles from the developer.

Diva

Diva is a u-he soft synth that models the oscillators, filters and envelopes of legendary vintage analogue synths at circuit level. By combining real-time circuit simulation with a zero-delay feedback (ZDF) design, it gets remarkably close to the sound of genuine analogue hardware.

Diva includes:

• 5 oscillator models
• 5 filter models
• 3 envelope models (selectable independently for the filter and amp slots)

These modules can be freely mixed and matched, so hybrid voicings that never existed in hardware – such as "Minimoog filter with Juno oscillators" – are entirely possible.

Here is what each module is modelled on.

On top of that, Diva offers two vintage-style stereo effect slots (plate reverb, delay, phaser, chorus and rotary speaker) and a Trimmers panel for adjusting per-voice detune and drift, so you can dial in an even more convincing analogue feel.

Repro

Repro is a u-he soft synth that bundles two plugins, Repro-1 and Repro-5. Both use component-level modelling to recreate the original hardware down to the smallest detail.

• Repro-1: a monophonic synth modelled on the Sequential Circuits (SCI) Pro-One. Simple, immediate controls and a thick, ready-to-use tone are its strengths. Native Instruments NKS compatible.
• Repro-5: a polyphonic synth modelled on the SCI Prophet-5. It shares the same sonic DNA as Repro-1 while excelling at rich chords and thick unison leads.

The Prophet-5 is a 5-voice polyphonic synth and the Pro-One is a monophonic synth; both are legendary Dave Smith designs, reproduced here with a high degree of accuracy.

Zebra 3

Zebra 3 is u-he’s new flagship modular synth, officially released on April 20, 2026. Rebuilt from the ground up over more than a decade of development, it unifies analogue modelling, physical modelling and digital synthesis.

• 4 main oscillators: morph between hand-drawable spline waveforms. Each can also work as a wavetable oscillator with up to 16-voice unison, or as an additive engine with up to 1,024 partials
• 13 filter models: including SVF, ladder, allpass and phaser types, with low-pass / band-pass / high-pass modes and multiple slopes for 105 responses in total
• 4 FM operators (modulators and carriers): freely chainable, so you can build complex FM algorithms without being locked into a fixed topology
• Physical modelling: modal resonators, comb filters and noise/exciter modules recreate acoustic textures
• Vector synthesis via the new 4-in-1 mixer module
• Formats: VST3 / AU / AAX / CLAP (macOS / Windows / Linux)

Zebra 3 is priced at €249. Zebra 2 owners can upgrade for €30, and owners of both Zebra 2 and The Dark Zebra get a free upgrade.

Zebra Legacy

Zebra Legacy is a bundle that gathers the long-loved "Zebra 2 generation" into a single package: Zebra 2, The Dark Zebra, ZebraHZ and every Zebra 2 soundset released by u-he. It contains over 4,000 presets, many of them refreshed with tagging and XY pad control.

• Zebra 2: a highly flexible wireless modular soft synth that covers everything from instantly usable sounds to deep sound design
• The Dark Zebra: a preset collection created by Hans Zimmer and Howard Scarr for the film The Dark Knight. It includes ZebraHZ, the Zimmer-specific expansion that adds Diva-derived filters and more
• Additional Zebra soundsets: every Zebra 2 soundset distributed by u-he, including Traveller, Crystallia, Chronospheres, Skools, Transmission and Stratospheres

Hive 2

Hive 2 is a high-performance soft synth that is light on the CPU but heavy on sound. Its smart interface, immediate visual feedback and concise modulation routing make it ideal for modern sound design.

• Two pairs of stereo oscillators (9 waveforms each) plus support for 140 wavetables, with four waveform interpolation algorithms (switch / crossfade / spectral / zero phase)
• A 4-lane, 8-step Shape Sequencer with four independent outputs that can act as envelopes, gate generators, LFOs or slew limiters to generate rhythm and motion
• A 12-slot modulation matrix that can also modulate effect parameters
• A swappable audio engine, flexible signal routing and high-quality built-in effects

Bazille

Bazille is a digital modular synthesizer developed by u-he. It combines the FM (phase modulation) and PD (phase distortion) techniques that became popular in the 1980s with u-he’s own FR (Fractal Resonance), and offers the kind of free-form patching you would expect from a modular instrument.

• 4 digital oscillators, each split into five sections (Pitch, Phase / FM, Phase Distortion, Fractal Resonance and Outputs). They operate down to 0 Hz, so they can also be used as LFOs or for waveshaping via mapping generators
• 4 multimode analogue-style filters (each with up to 6 parallel outputs)
• A modular engine that makes no distinction between audio and control signals: oscillators, LFOs, envelopes, filters, inverters, rectifiers and more can be wired together with virtual patch cables
• 4 modelled effects: stereo delay, distortion, phaser and spring reverb

ACE

ACE (Any Cable Everywhere) is a semi-modular soft synth inspired by hardware modular systems. A fixed architecture is patched by default, so it makes sound the moment you load it while still offering the full expandability of a modular instrument.

• 2 VCOs (multiple waveforms, waveform blending, sub oscillator, sync and FM), plus a sub oscillator and noise generator
• 2 multimode filters (each with 2 parallel outputs)

Filterscape is an extremely flexible and powerful sound-design trio from u-he. A morphing EQ that can switch seamlessly between eight user-defined settings sits at the core of all three plugins: Filterscape FX, Filterscape Q6 and Filterscape VA.

Filterscape FX

Filterscape FX is the plugin aimed primarily at effect processing.
