SSL DigiCrush is a digital FX plugin inspired by early digital samplers and classic digital effects, letting you freely recreate lo-fi digital sound. X-ValveComp

X-ValveComp is a full-featured mono or stereo channel compressor that adds a valve emulation stage to the full set of traditional channel compressor controls. The valve emulation stage sits after the compressor in the signal path and mainly adds saturation and distortion in varying degrees to thicken and color the sound.

X-Limit

X-Limit is a highly visual maximizer featuring multiple characteristics and a True Peak intersample limiter for precise loudness control of tracks and buses. It offers multiple preset characteristics ranging from very transparent to colored and glued, a standards-compliant, high-precision True Peak algorithm, and useful feedback on the limiter’s effect on the stereo image of the signal.

The all-in-one left-to-right waveform display lets you set the limiter threshold and ceiling against the input signal and adjust the gain to increase loudness while catching peaks.

X-Limit has four preset styles — Transparent, Glue, Punch and Auto — whose ballistics are adjusted under the hood to achieve different characteristics depending on the situation. You can choose between second-order valve-style distortion and third-order transistor distortion, or blend the two for the perfect combination of tube warmth and transistor iron. X-Gate extends sound sculpting with unique controls: an intuitive sidechain filter interface and mid/side balance options let you focus the gate on unwanted sounds and keep the processed signal natural, or affect it however you like. Visual feedback, including a hardware-inspired traffic light system, shows the gate’s current state at a glance, and the rolling waveform graph shows the incoming signal intuitively so you can set the open and close thresholds.

X-Gate is ideal for sound design at the mixing stage, and with a variable lookahead time and zero added plugin latency at the minimum setting, it is also the perfect tool for tracking sessions where mic bleed disturbs the main source.

The EXP and DUCK modes instantly drop the plugin into two additional modes visualized on the I/O graph: a fixed expander mode for transparent gating, and a duck mode that attenuates the signal only when the threshold is exceeded.

X-Phase

X-Phase is an all-pass filter plugin offering manual control and a high-quality response. It applies a phase shift at a specified frequency in the signal. Unlike other filter types, which change the gain at the selected frequency, an all-pass filter does not change the overall gain of the signal. This is useful for correcting mic phase problems when recording.

X-Phase can also be used to create comb filters by applying the filtered signal to an unfiltered version of the same signal. The controls are simple: the Frequency control selects the frequency at which the phase offset is applied, the Q control sets the slope of the correction curve applied across the signal, and the Phase Invert button flips the phase of the filter by 180 degrees.

A separate Delay section is applied to the entire signal, allowing a wider range of time alignment.

Violet EQ is Solid State Logic’s first analog EQ circuit in 25 years. Drawing on SSL’s legacy and heritage, it offers a carefully selected set of frequency points and response curves, making intuitive, musical EQ extremely easy to use and, above all, available in your DAW.

Alongside the new FAT button, which adds a subtle bump to the low end when the HPF is on, the SSL Fusion Violet EQ plugin has built-in help. The SSL Fusion Vintage Drive plugin is a digital emulation of the Vintage Drive processor from the acclaimed SSL Fusion stereo outboard hardware processor. Designed to produce gentle harmonic saturation and soft compression, like driving vintage hardware into its analog sweet spot, the plugin is a must-have for adding organic analog feel to tracks, groups, mixes and masters.

Fusion HF Compressor

The SSL Fusion HF Compressor plugin emulates the high-frequency smoothing circuit of the SSL Fusion stereo outboard hardware processor.

This compressor acts only on frequencies above the crossover, producing a distinctive rounded high-frequency sound. Ratio, attack and release are all optimized for maximum transparency, and the smooth compression and tape-like high-frequency roll-off help tame unwanted harshness that builds up in mixes and individual stems.

In addition to the features of the original hardware, the SSL Fusion HF Compressor plugin introduces MIX and AUTO GAIN controls, letting you set the perfect amount of HF smoothing and apply automatic make-up gain to the compressed frequencies. Combined with the gain reduction graph, meters and feedback from the original hardware’s circuit activity LED, you can adjust harshness quickly.

Fusion Stereo Image

The SSL Fusion Stereo Image plugin is modeled on the mid-side processing circuit of the SSL Fusion stereo outboard hardware processor.

This analog circuit uses a technique that separates a stereo signal into two channels: the sum (L+R) of the center sound (M) and the difference signal (L-R) of the left and right sound (S). The WIDTH control lets you narrow or widen the stereo image. The SPACE circuit is a frequency-dependent width control based on the concept of Stereo Shuffling, which can inject an interesting sense of depth into the mix.

SSL Fusion Stereo Image adds an all-new SHUFFLE control for changing the frequency cutoff of the SPACE circuit, a built-in polar-sample vectorscope that gives insight into the stereo field of the signal, and a SOLO SIDE function that lets you easily audition the stereo field of the signal.

Fusion Transformer

The SSL Fusion Transformer plugin emulates Fusion’s switchable SSL transformer circuit. The 600Ω, 1:1 turns under-damped transformer gives the signal a subtle weight, introducing low-end thickness and high-end sheen as a result of the LF saturation and frequency phase shift produced by driving the circuit.
