2. GetGood Drums (GGD) Product Overview
What is GetGood Drums (GGD)?
GGD is a developer focused mainly on rock and metal drum libraries, but its catalog also covers bass libraries, guitar cabinet IRs, a drum compressor, one-shot samples and drum MIDI packs. The company’s founder and CDO (Chief Drumming Officer) is Periphery drummer Matt Halpern. Engineering on many of the products is handled by Adam “Nolly” Getgood, known for his work with Architects, Sleep Token, Periphery and more.

Modern & Massive 2
Modern & Massive 2 is the first flagship library on GGD’s standalone platform and the successor to the original Modern & Massive, a long-time staple for modern rock and metal.
Engineered by Adam “Nolly” Getgood and sampled by drummer Mike Malyan at the renowned Middle Farm Studios, it was recorded through Middle Farm’s Trident console. It keeps the energetic, explosive ambience of the original while greatly expanding the dynamics, and it can also deliver a more organic, enveloping sound when needed.
The drums come with a choice of different head types, pitches and muting options, and the cymbals can be chosen from three sets spanning multiple brands, so you can dramatically change the character of the kit.
Invasion 2
Invasion 2 is GGD’s largest drum library for heavy music. Compared with the original Invasion, everything has been scaled up: the number of drums and cymbals, the dynamics and impact, and the overall flexibility.
Produced and engineered by Adam “Nolly” Getgood, it was recorded in the Wood Room at Real World Studios through vintage Neve channels. The sound balances snap, warmth, explosiveness and depth. It includes three tom kits (including Rototoms) and 15 cymbal positions, covering everything from chinas and crashes to splashes and bells.
The included MIDI grooves were performed on an e-kit by Blake Richardson, Navene Koperweis, Sebastian Lanser, Jesse Beahler and Joe Hamilton.
Matt Garstka Signature Drums
Matt Garstka Signature Drums captures the signature sound of drummer Matt Garstka, known for his work with Animals As Leaders and Tigran Hamasyan.
It features Matt’s custom DW Collector’s kit in two head and tuning setups, five of his favorite snares, and a hand-picked selection of Meinl cymbals including all of his signature models. It was recorded in the live room at Gray Box Studio in Nashville and offers two ambience characters: warm and intimate up close, explosive from a distance.
It is the first GGD library to include two kick drums, and the Kick Link feature lets you process both together or shape them separately. MIDI grooves performed by Matt himself are also included.
One Kit Wonder: The Downbeat
One Kit Wonder: The Downbeat is the first standalone entry in the One Kit Wonder series, capturing the sound of Craig Reynolds, drummer for Stray From The Path and host of the streetwear brand and music podcast “The Downbeat.”
Craig’s Tama Star Maple shell pack is paired with a Tama Bell Brass snare and a prototype second snare inspired by the Tama Star Reserve Aluminium, while the cymbals are Zildjians, including his beloved K Projection ride. It was recorded by Nolly and Craig in the Wood Room at Real World Studios.
The new One Kit Wonder mixer lets you control each channel’s EQ and compression with a single knob, so you can quickly move from raw tones to album-quality sound.

Benny Greb Signature Pack
A drum library capturing the sound of world-renowned drummer Benny Greb. The drums and cymbals are Benny’s own personal gear that he uses on all of his recordings. The cymbals in particular are an original set he co-designed with Meinl and has been the only one to play ever since, worn in over thousands of hours of practice, live shows and recording sessions.
With a variety of tunings and two kit setups, it delivers a punchy, characterful drum tone with an overall earthy, warm sound and an accurate, intimate ambience. It features Sonor drums and Meinl cymbals.
P5 Matt Halpern Signature Pack
A powerful, organic and realistic-sounding kit recorded during the making of Periphery’s “Periphery V: Djent Is Not A Genre.” The latest entry in the Matt Halpern signature series, it faithfully reproduces the drum sound that earned high praise on the album.
It features Pearl drums and Meinl cymbals captured in the beautiful ambience of the Wood Room at Real World Studios. Thanks to the quality of the source tones and the depth of sampling, it works well across a wide range of genres beyond progressive metal.
P4 Matt Halpern Signature Pack
A drum library recorded during the album sessions for Periphery’s “PIV: Hail Stan.” It was captured with the same recording chain, drums and even the same drummer used on the album, preserving the energy of Matt’s playing and the atmosphere of the live room.
It features drums from Pearl Drums and VK Drums along with Meinl cymbals. Its cohesive, energetic and moderately aggressive tone fits a wide range of styles, from djent to pop.
Matt Halpern Signature Pack
Conceived by GGD as the tool they “wish had existed years ago,” this drum library packs in thoughtful details and ease of use not found in other libraries.

Invasion
Invasion is the ultimate metal drum library. Combining overwhelming impact with precision, it delivers drums that cut through even the fastest, most chaotic music.
Centered on a huge drum kit, it includes aggressive kicks and snares, perfectly tuned toms, and a massive selection of cymbals ranging from small bells and splashes to monstrous chinas and crashes. A groove player, processing and reverb, and per-channel envelope and pitch controls are also built in.
Modern & Massive
Modern & Massive is a drum library for modern rock and metal with clean, powerful, lively drum tones and explosive ambience.
Earth-shaking kicks, shotgun-like snares, deep and impactful toms and shimmering cymbals were sampled at Middle Farm Studios in the UK, one of the world’s finest drum rooms. Processing was kept to a minimum, so it sounds polished out of the box without locking your mix into a particular direction.
One Kit Wonder Series
One Kit Wonder was born from the feedback of the many users who rely on GGD libraries for songwriting. The kits are sampled with the same level of detail as GGD’s other libraries, but they come pre-mixed from the start, so you can hear your ideas with polished sound right away.

One Kit Wonder: Aggressive Rock
A big-sounding kit for modern heavy rock, inspired by bands like Beartooth. It consists of low-tuned drums and a small setup of sharp, slightly trashy cymbals. Without layering any one-shot samples, it achieves a dull, heavy attack and shotgun-like room ambience purely through the tuning, recording and mixing of a single drum kit.
One Kit Wonder: Architects
Captures the huge, punchy, modern drum sound associated with Architects drummer Dan Searle. It pairs a big kick and floor tom, a single tonally rich rack tom and a heavy, low-tuned dry snare with darker-leaning Zildjian cymbals (big crashes and hi-hats, FX cymbals, an X-hat, and a ride that can also be played as a crash).
One Kit Wonder: Brutal
A chaotic, ultra-heavy-sounding kit. Made up of a savage snare, pounding kicks, single-headed tribal toms and aggressive cymbals, it excels in extreme styles such as death metal, industrial, blackened thrash and reverb-drenched doom. The cymbals even include a heavily damaged crash and damaged stacks.
One Kit Wonder: Classic Rock
A low, bangy snare, a boomy large-diameter kick and big warm toms are combined with oversized Paiste Giant Beat cymbals, recorded in Middle Farm’s live room set up to be reflective for maximum ambience. It adds the top-end sparkle and low-end extension of modern recording to a classic sound.
One Kit Wonder: Dry and Funky
A modern take on the deep, dry classic drum sound. The kick, snare and toms are all low-tuned and heavily muffled, then recorded in a small booth for tight, short tones. The cymbals are dark Zildjian K series, giving an “analog” sound with rounded sharp edges and warmth in the midrange.
One Kit Wonder: Metal
A kit that blends the best of big early-to-mid-2000s metal productions with the natural power, realism and refinement of modern drum tones. Not tied to any particular subgenre, it handles everything from stomping backbeats to 250 bpm blasts.
One Kit Wonder: Modern Fusion
A clean, polished-sounding kit inspired by contemporary progressive fusion artists. It retains organic tones and a wide dynamic range: the snare and toms are punchy yet musical, the kick ranges from a sharp attack to solid weight depending on how hard it is hit, and the cymbals are glossy and hi-fi while also offering dark complexity and responsiveness to touch.
One Kit Wonder: Nu Metal
A kit inspired by the new generation of metal bands that have evolved the nu metal sound. Huge low-tuned drums punch through the mix while shimmering cymbals add sparkle. It consists of a juicy, aggressive kick, a fat low snare, a high-pitched side snare, three deep, wet toms and smooth cymbals.
One Kit Wonder: Pop Punk
A kit that combines the youthful essence of pop punk’s heyday with the fidelity and impact of modern recording. Its energetic tone comes from a high-ringing snare, a compact, tonal kick and toms, and bright, shimmering cymbals. Recorded in the live room at Crescent Records Studio, it delivers a punchy pre-mixed sound while preserving the kit’s natural character.

The Nolly Bass Library
A bass library capturing Adam “Nolly” Getgood’s signature bass tone, characterized by a percussive attack, a richly distorted midrange and a heavy low end. It was recorded with Nolly playing his own Dingwall NG6, and it is the very bass tone heard on “Periphery V: Djent Is Not A Genre.”

Smash (FET-style)

Slammers: Power Vault
Slammers: Power Vault is a collection of kick and snare one-shot samples that add punch to your drum mix. It covers a wide range of sounds: fat and deep to high and pingy, organic to heavily processed, clean to distorted. Many of the samples also come with separate room samples recorded in top studios around the world.
Every sample is a different drum, with no reuse or padding through blends. Because they are mixed phase-aligned, you can stack as many as you like to create original combinations. Load them into your DAW or favorite sampler to reinforce both live and programmed drum tracks.
Drum MIDI Packs
The MIDI Pack series collects drum grooves and fills by popular drummers and by genre. Each groove comes with plenty of variations, fills and accents, making them useful both for writing songs from scratch and for finding ideas to change a song’s vibe.
They are helpful as learning material for non-drummers studying how to build drum phrases and apply dynamics, and as inspiration for drummers looking to break out of their usual patterns. You can also use only the hand patterns and write in your own kicks to create original beats.
