Verbum Entropic Hall (United Plugins) – Regular $137
A vintage-style digital reverb that combines the best of analog and digital, based on a collection of vintage hardware owned by SounDevice Digital. Mode switches between three reverb algorithms, with Predelay, Decay and Dry/Wet plus HP (0-500Hz) and LP (0.5-16kHz) filters that cut the low and high end of the wet signal. Chaotic reflections that process the late reflections in their own way give the digital reverb a living sound. Colour recreates analog circuit saturation, Legendarism adds the coloration and saturation of legendary reverbs, the 12 BIT button emulates old AD/DA converters for a gritty texture, Lush modulates the late reflections to smooth the tail, Width expands the stereo image up to 200, and ER/LR sets the balance between early and late reflections, so you can shape everything from clean to lo-fi sounds. A built-in Ducking function (adjustable Amount and Time) lowers the wet signal when the dry signal comes in, so the reverb never buries your mix. No iLok or dongle required (license file activation).
Analog Empire: Bass & Lead (MeldaProduction) – Regular $79
An analog synth instrument for MSoundFactory, multisampled from classic analog synthesizer basses and leads. It has a dual-layer design: load a sound into each of the Sound A and Sound B slots and blend them with the central Mix knob, with Pitch, Drift (analog-style instability), Unison, Tone and Spread for each layer. A Mono/Legato switch and glide slider sit in the center. The FX page offers Vibrato with fade-in, Amp for character and distortion, Chorus, Delay, and Space, a vintage reverb with ducker. The final Master section provides HP/LP filters, a 3-band EQ, one-knob Compress, Saturate and Maximize, plus stereo Width and a mono switch. Presets by professional sound designers are included (requires MSoundFactory, and the free MSoundFactory Player also works).
NanoBeast (W. A. Production) – Regular $49.90
A granular effect that chops incoming audio into tiny grains and rebuilds them in sync with your tempo. Grain size can sync down to 1/64 notes, the Fade time shapes everything from sharp attacks to smooth textures, and grain changes are shown in real time. The Morph control has three playback modes: Sidechain randomly swaps grains between two sources while morphing, Input duplicates the original so the effect takes center stage, and Mute creates gate-like stutter effects. The Grain FX rack includes Drops (randomly removes grains), Spread (scatters grains across the stereo field), Shift (random pitch changes) and Scatter (shifts timing). Two FX chains, A and B, offer high-pass/low-pass filters, Space reverb, Flow tape modulation and Crush (bit crushing and sample rate reduction). Melt vocals into soundscapes or turn drums into chaotic rhythms, from ambient to EDM. Includes plenty of factory presets, a resizable UI, a PDF manual and tutorial videos.
Slam2 (BeatSkillz) – Regular $79
A track fattener that condenses a processing chain of EQ, sub-harmonic generation, two saturation types, multi-stage compression and multiband stereo widening into eight knobs named after the result they deliver. Mud Cut is a high-pass that removes low-end muddiness, Thump lifts the low-mids that form the core of kicks and basses, Boom adds sub bass that is not in the original sound, Heat adds saturation with a choice of smooth analog-style H1 or aggressive tube-style H2, Airz adds clarity and air to the highs, Pop emphasizes transients with slow attack and fast release, Crush is an inflator-style compressor that raises perceived loudness without squashing dynamics, and Width spreads the mids and highs while keeping the low end centered. Input/output trim and a Wet/Dry Mix allow parallel processing. Just turn the knobs to make drum buses, vocals, synths and the master bus thicker, punchier and wider (up to 3 installs per license, 300MB of disk space).
