Splice INSTRUMENT: Free Expansions for October
Splice INSTRUMENT is a free sample-based instrument plugin that lets you bring multisampled instruments into any DAW. It covers a wide range of sounds, from rare pianos to classic synths, and comes with hundreds of free presets. The sounds of Spitfire Audio’s “LABS” and “LABS+” are also integrated into this plugin, with a new interface, enhanced browsing and access to individual presets.
The plugin has a system called “Free Drops,” which unlocks premium presets that are normally subscription-only for free every month. If you get them during the drop period, you keep those presets permanently.
The October 2026 Free Drops include the following three expansion presets for free.
- Fogged Glass Vox
- Alto Sax Long Soft
- 476 to Kings Cross 120bpm
Fogged Glass Vox
Fogged Glass Vox (Synth) is a ghostly vocal synth preset. It captures a space between garage, ambient electronica and modern club music, and is an excerpt from the full “Near Dark Garage” pack.
Alto Sax Long Soft
Alto Sax Long Soft (Sax) is an intimate-sounding alto sax preset. It was created in collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Florian Fourlin and further develops the sax textures that first appeared in “Liminal Hotel.” It is an excerpt from the full “Ghost Notes” pack.
476 to Kings Cross 120bpm
476 to Kings Cross 120bpm (Synth) is an experimental synth pad preset. It captures the pulse of London in synthesized form and suits hyperpop, experimental electronics and dystopian scoring. It is an excerpt from the full “Unheard London” pack.

How to Download and Install
Download and install the free “Splice INSTRUMENT,” then launch it as a standalone app or as a plugin in your DAW. After launching, choose from the water-drop icon “Free Drops” and download the presets to get them. Presets you get during the drop period can be used permanently afterward. This free distribution is available in October only (until October 31).
