Schallenberg Engineering is giving away its bongo library “Collision: Bongos” for free!
In this article, we introduce the giveaway details and an overview of Collision: Bongos.
We hope you find it useful.
1. What Is Schallenberg Engineering “Collision: Bongos”?
Collision: Bongos is a Kontakt bongo library that captures a single bongo sampled from three different positions in the room, with each position delivered as its own independent NKI instrument.
While producing the COLLISION SERIES, developer Schallenberg Engineering recorded a large number of drums and percussion instruments, and it has adopted a policy of releasing for free the material that did not fit into the bigger packages. This product was published as part of that effort. A Multi patch called “Bongo Ensemble” that lets you handle all three mic positions at once is included as well, and despite the simple setup, up to 11 round robins and up to 5 dynamic layers keep fast repeated hits from sounding mechanical, delivering a natural and expressive performance.
Key Features
- Includes 3 instruments (Bongo C / Bongo L / Bongo R) plus 1 Multi (Bongo Ensemble)
- A 3-mic setup capturing a single bongo from three positions in the room
- Up to 11 round robins to avoid unnatural repetition on fast, repeated hits
- Up to 5 dynamic layers reproducing velocity-dependent dynamics and tonal changes
- Individual ADSR settings for each microphone
- Round robin can be switched on/off individually
- Freely configure which key triggers which sound
- Supports an alternative sample mapping where lower keys = softer dynamics and higher keys = harder dynamics
- Pitch changes with delay compensation
- Random Delay adds slight randomness to the timing of each hit
- Adjustable onset (negative track delay)
- Customizable output assignments
2. How to Download Collision: Bongos
For Collision: Bongos, you add the product to your cart and check out, and a serial number is then sent to you by email. You can use that serial number to download the library via the Pulse Downloader. Please note that the full version of Native Instruments “Kontakt 6.7.1” or later is required — the free Kontakt Player will not work.
That wraps up the free giveaway information for Collision: Bongos.
