What Is Klevgrand Speldosa?
Speldosa is a music box instrument created through a collaboration between Klevgrand and Swedish artist Wintergatan (Martin Molin). “Speldosa” means “music box” in Swedish, and the plugin lets you play the music box sounds that Wintergatan recorded, just as they were captured.
4 Models and 2 Rooms
Speldosa is very simple to use. Sound design revolves around the following elements:
- 4 models: “Modern” (like a brand-new music box), “Vintage” and “Antique” (well-worn instruments), and “Eternal” (reversed playback)
- 2 room models: add the sense of a music box placed in a real space
- Algorithmic reverb: “Space” adds extra width when the rooms are not enough
- Falling Stars: a visualization where the notes you play fall like shooting stars
Key Features
- 4 instrument models
- 2 room simulations
- Algorithmic reverb
- Simple UI
- Carefully recorded samples by Wintergatan
- Damper setting (v1.0.3)
