2. About Heavyocity
Heavyocity is a virtual instrument and plugin maker focused on cinematic scoring for film, games and TV. Founded in 2006 in New York, its roots go back to the creator team “Heavy Melody Music” launched in 2003 by Dave Fraser and Neil Goldberg.
Dave and Neil met at Berklee College of Music in 1989 — Dave touring as keyboardist for Gary Richrath (REO Speedwagon) and Neil playing guitar for Epic Recording artist Annihilator. They reunited at Sonalysts Studios / Power Station New England in 1995, worked on AOL, ESPN and US Military projects, then founded Heavy Melody Music in NYC. Composer/sound designer Ari Winters (Carnegie Mellon master’s) later joined, building credits with Electronic Arts, Activision, 2K Games and other major game audio clients.
From years of tight production deadlines came a new focus in 2006: building modern virtual instruments to deliver world-class sound themselves. Heavyocity Media, Inc. was born. Their debut title EVOLVE earned critical acclaim — Electronic Musician Magazine’s Editor’s Choice and MusicTech Magazine’s Choice Award. From there, award-winning standards of cinematic scoring like DAMAGE, GRAVITY, NOVO and FORZO followed. The trailer for their signature epic percussion library “Damage 2” is the fastest way to feel the Heavyocity world.

The Oblivion series is Heavyocity’s recently expanded “aggressive” line. Free Kontakt Player Compatible
Heavyocity instruments basically run on Native Instruments Kontakt or Reaktor. Many work with the free Kontakt Player / Reaktor Player, so you can use Heavyocity sounds without owning the full Native Instruments licenses. Installation uses both the official Heavyocity Product Portal and Native Access — a unique two-step process.
3. Installation / Activation
Heavyocity (Kontakt instrument) authorization and activation is a little involved and takes four steps. After creating an account and installing through the Portal, you also need to register the serial in Native Instruments’ Native Access.
- Create a Heavyocity account
- Download Heavyocity Product Portal and log in
- Enter the serial number under Register to add and install the product
- Enter the serial number under “Add a Serial” in Native Access
