Pink Trombone is a human vocal tract model synthesizer created by Steve Duda, the founder of Xfer Records known for Serum and OTT, who officially ported Neil Thapen’s legendary web-app speech synthesizer “Pink Trombone” to an AU/VST3 plugin. The original web app, released in 2017, gained widespread attention as a vocal tract model that lets you interactively manipulate the vocal cords, tongue, and oral cavity to generate vowels and consonants, and it has been sampled in everything from cartoon-style sound effects to dark EDM and dubstep. On top of the original interactive controls, the plugin version adds Voice, Tract, and Play sections where you can adjust parameters such as breathiness, tone, and articulation. 2. How to Download and Install Pink Trombone
You can download the macOS, Windows, and Linux versions for free from the Dropbox links in the Reddit thread posted by Steve Duda himself. The macOS version comes as a .pkg installer and the Windows version as an .exe installer, so you can install it simply by running the file (the Linux version is a tar.gz). Installing it adds both the Instrument version and the FX version.
