Cat Psychedelia’s drone reverb “Purrigee” is currently available for free!
In this article, we’ll cover how to get Purrigee for free and give you an overview of what it can do.
We hope you find it helpful.
1. What Is Cat Psychedelia “Purrigee”?
Purrigee is a drone reverb controlled with one big knob. Turn on HOVER, play a chord and stop, and the reverb tail keeps ringing as if it were floating in the air before slowly fading away. The TIDE knob sets the depth, and it is designed so that the dry signal never drops while only the reverb increases.
Key Features
- TIDE: Adjust everything from 0 (dry, no effect) to deep reverb with a single knob
- HOVER: Holds the reverb tail like a freeze while you play, layering new sounds and gradually thinning out older layers (turn it off for a normal reverb)
- 24 presets in 4 groups (DUSK: short rooms, HALO: medium shimmering tails, PERIGEE: long dark drones, LUNACY: tails whose pitch slowly wavers)
- tweak ▸: DECAY (1.5 to 30 seconds), TONE, SHIMMER (one-octave-up shimmer), HOLD
- IN/OUT gain (±24dB) and resizable window (75 to 200%)
- When switching presets, the previous reverb tail fades out to prevent clicks
- CPU usage drops to nearly zero during silence
- Compatibility: macOS 11 or later AU/VST3 (Apple Silicon/Intel, signed and notarized installer), Windows 10/11 (64-bit) VST3
- No account registration, activation, or internet connection required. Includes PDF manuals in English and Japanese
