noshigeSound’s FET compressor plugin noshige76 is currently available as a free download for a limited time!
In this article, we cover the giveaway details and give you an overview of what noshige76 can do.
1. What Is noshigeSound “noshige76”?
noshige76 is a plugin that recreates a hardware FET compressor — a longtime staple of mix compression — using parametric modeling. Unlike conventional emulations that capture a single impulse response or a single curve, it is built as a “parametric model” trained on the real hardware across the entire range of every parameter: Input, Output, Attack, Release, and Ratio.
Key Features
- A hardware FET compressor recreated with AI-based parametric modeling
- The full operating range of Input / Output / Attack / Release / Ratio is learned from the actual hardware (not a snapshot-based approach)
- Null-test residual of -33 to -39 dB against the hardware signal (about -37 dB on average)
- PRO and LITE modes included: PRO runs the full-size AI model for the sound closest to the hardware, while LITE trades a little accuracy for roughly 1/5 the CPU load
- Internal processing at 96 kHz / 32-bit float
- Dual-mono stereo processing (no stereo link) — the left and right channels are gain-reduced independently, so a large transient on one side won’t pull down the other
- Works on a wide range of sources, including vocals, drums, bass, and the mix bus
- One license can be used on up to 3 machines per user
